Pre-Purchase F&I Consultation
A focused briefing before you enter the finance office. We walk you through every product you will be offered, what each one is worth, which have genuine value for your specific situation, and exactly how to respond when the F&I manager objects.
The service in plain language.
The Pre-Purchase F&I Consultation is a targeted advisory engagement focused exclusively on the finance office portion of your car purchase. Before your finance office appointment, we brief you on the specific products you are likely to be offered based on the vehicle type, your financing structure, and the dealer's typical menu. You leave the conversation knowing exactly what to sign, what to decline, and what to say when the manager objects. Especially useful if you're leasing with subprime credit or unsure how your credit score affects lease eligibility.
The problem it solves.
The finance office is where most buyers lose the money they saved negotiating the price. Dealers present 5–8 products in rapid succession, in an unfamiliar environment, after a long day of negotiating. Most buyers sign for products they don't need because they don't know what each one is worth or that they can decline without consequence. One consultation typically saves multiples of its cost.
Step by step.
You provide the vehicle details, your financing structure (lender, term, approximate rate), and any information about the dealer's F&I menu if available. The more specific, the more tailored the briefing.
We walk you through every product likely on the menu: GAP, extended service contract, tire & wheel, paint/fabric protection, key replacement, credit insurance, and any dealer-specific add-ons. For each, we give you a verdict and the reasoning behind it.
We prepare you for the objections the F&I manager will raise when you decline products. These are scripted and predictable — we give you the appropriate response to each.
After you sign, send us your contract and we'll confirm there are no unauthorized additions relative to what you agreed to. Included as part of this engagement.
Everything in this engagement.
About this service.
Generic information is not deal-specific. Whether GAP coverage is worth it depends on your loan-to-value ratio, your insurance carrier's policies, and whether your lender already includes it. Whether a service contract makes sense depends on the vehicle, the mileage, and the price being charged. We give you a verdict for your specific situation, not a general answer.
Ideally within 24–48 hours before your finance office appointment. We need enough time to prepare your briefing but close enough to your appointment that the information is current.
If you've already signed, the appropriate service is our F&I Audit. It covers the same products but focuses on what's cancellable and how to recover refunds rather than how to prevent overpaying.
